Anna is an aspiring academic unwillingly sharing her life with chronic illness. After a PhD in Physics she worked in Universities across the UK, developing miniature devices for biosensing. Her most recent research on the optical properties of nano-scale metallic structures was cut short by a major relapse. She is currently exploring alternative research directions, in the fields of E-learning and Physics Education Research and is particularly interested in how technologies such as ‘electronic voting systems’ can create new opportunities for dialogue and learning. She can be found on Twitter as @annakwood and occasionally blogs at http://learningfrome-learning.blogspot.co.uk/ about the science of learning.
