Charley Meakin is a Ph.D. student in the Cinema and Television History Research Centre at De Montfort University. Her research focuses on updating current histories of the Walt Disney Company, specifically aiming to provide an original account of the company’s branding activities and the measures taken to create and maintain a particular identity within popular culture in its modern history. Her research interests also extend to fandom and fan cultures, film franchises, contemporary Hollywood cinema, gaming, adaptation, children’s literature and fairytales.
